Frequently asked questions

How do I import my existing collection?

Go to Manage → Import and choose a CSV file. Scrybin reads ManaBox exports directly, plus its own native CSV format. Each row becomes a card in the bin you choose during import.

If your app isn't listed, export it to CSV first — most collection apps can — and Scrybin will map the common columns (name, set, collector number, quantity).

What exactly is a "bin"?

A bin is any physical place cards live: a binder, a shoebox, a deck box, a shelf. Name it whatever's written on the real container — A-01, BOX-03, "Kitchen shelf" — and file cards into it. Scrybin never requires cards to be sorted inside a bin; it just remembers which bin each copy is in.

What does "checked out" mean?

When you build a deck, you check cards out of their bins into that deck. The cards' location is now the deck. When you take the deck apart, check the whole deck back in to any bin — every card's location updates in one step, and the movement history is kept.

Removing a card from a deck never deletes it: the surplus copies are moved into a bin you pick, because the cardboard has to go somewhere.

How do I back up my collection?

Two ways:

  • Device backups. Scrybin's database is part of your normal iPhone backup (iCloud Backup or a computer backup), so restoring your phone restores your collection.
  • Export. Go to Manage → Export anytime for a CSV (native or Moxfield format) you can keep anywhere. This is also your way out if you ever switch apps — no lock-in.
Does Scrybin need an account or internet connection?

No account, ever. Your collection is stored on your device. Scrybin uses the internet only to fetch card names, sets, and images from Scryfall and deck lists you import from Archidekt; browsing cards you've already added works offline.

Card prices or a card I can't find look wrong — why?

All card data comes from Scryfall. Very new sets can take a short time to appear after release, and misprints/odd promos occasionally have unusual entries. If a card genuinely won't come up, email support with the exact card name and set.

How do I delete my data?

Delete the app. Because everything is stored locally and Scrybin has no servers, deleting the app removes your collection data completely (export a CSV first if you want a copy). See the privacy policy for details.

Can I request a feature?

Yes — email support@devsdecide.com. Requests that describe the shelf-level problem ("I can't tell which box my Commander staples ended up in") are the most likely to get built.
